School Break Camps
February Camp, Spring Break Camps & Winter Camp
We rent space at local schools with an abundance of facilities. Each has a large community room with a kitchen; classrooms; outdoor play spaces with climbing structures, swings, and sand play. We bring our variety of toys and sports equipment-hoolahoops, lunastix, soccer, basketballs, baseballs, medic balls, etc. from our vans for extra fun! The indoors will have board games, manipulatives and arts and crafts materials within easy reach of the kids.

Location
Click here to read info about Tilden Park or here for the Tilden Nature Area (close to our site locations) on the
East Bay Regional Park District's website.
- Camps take place in gorgeous Tilden Park
- Access to the natural world unsurpassed by programs based in schools or recreation centers
- Miles of trails, large playing fields, cozy spots under Redwood and Oak trees, creeks and opportunities to spot wildlife (we've seen Herons, raccoons, blue jays, foxes, turkey vultures, hawks, deer, dragonflies and damselflies).
- A lake for swimming (all sites swim at the lake, except for the age
3-4 year old group), a working farm, creeks for wildlife spotting, a Merry-Go-Round, an environmental nature center, and a new climbing structure.
- Each program has a Site base, with picnic tables, grassy fields, drinking fountains, bathrooms and plenty of sun and shade.
Camp Culture
-
We create days balanced with planned and spontaneous activities.
-
We hire talented staff from diverse backgrounds to guide and enrich our program.
-
All children, those new to MBC and those returning, are welcomed. Friendships are fostered by our staff.
-
Appreciation for our environment, each other, and all of the activities in which we get to participate is encouraged.
-
Non-violent communication is practiced.
-
Youth Leaders provide campers with extra attention, from a baseball pitch to a hug.
Activities
-
Our curriculum is rich with diverse and exciting activities, in order to support the different learning styles of our campers.
-
We offer theme-based sessions. Some are one week long, some are two weeks long. Some examples are: Mad Science, Pirate Camp, Drama & Performing Arts, Circus Arts, Outdoor Cooking, Magical Mystery Tour, and Fabulous Fun.
- Our general daily schedule is posted for each age group: Papayas (Ages 3-4), Bananas (Ages 4.5-6) and Coconuts & Mangos (Ages 7-10)
-
An enriching outdoor classroom is set-up each day with materials from our on-site vans
Logistics
- Parents receive a camp handbook in early June to explain camp details.
- Parents drop-off and pick-up their children each day. Carpool lists are sent out the week before camp starts to assist you in coordinating with other families.
- Ideal group sizes- between 20-40 campers in each group-enough for variety of activities and friends, but small enough for individual attention.
- Ages are mixed at sites, but we break off into smaller age groups to do activities for part of the day.
- Safe environments created by following American Camping Association protocol
