Winter Camp 2014-2015

We had a fantastic Winter Camp this year! Check back in early fall 2015 for details regarding next year’s Winter Camp.

Voted GOLD in Parent’s Press Best of the East Bay 2014 Winter Camp category, we’ll be cooking, sewing, painting, and most importantly, playing together. There is nothing like having time with old and new friends – creating, swinging, digging in the sand, jumping rope, and playing tag. With caring and enthusiastic adults and youth leaders to lead the way, it’ll be just what we all need.

Berkwood Hedge School:
1809 Bancroft Way, Berkele

The beautiful space includes: a large community room with a kitchen; indoor classrooms and art spaces; outdoor play area with climbing structure, swings, and sand play. We bring our variety of toys and sports equipment: hoolahoops, lunastix, soccer, basketballs, baseballs, medic balls, etc. from our vans for extra fun! The indoors will have board games, manipulatives and arts and crafts materials within easy reach of the kids.



We expect the Strawberry and Banana Groups (ages 4 ½ -6) to spend much of the day together; also, the Mango and Coconut Groups (ages 7-10). They will have time in smaller groups for playshops. All campers share morning time outside, lunch and post-lunch play time and afternoon extended care. On days with smaller enrollment (like Christmas Eve), all campers are together. If you need to make any special requests regarding age grouping for your child, please contact our office.

SIBLING DISCOUNT: Parents registering more than one child can choose the discounted 8 day option and split it between their registrations (ie. each child may register for 4 days or one child for 3 days and one child for 5 days).

  • Campers bring their own lunch and morning snack. We provide afternoon snack for extended care PM campers. We are a nut and nut butter free camp, to help keep our campers safe.
  • We require campers to be able to operate within our ratio of 1:9, so if your child has medical, behavioral or emotional needs that will need additional coaching or support, we welcome your aide/coach.
  • Camp handbooks will be available one month before the program start.

All Counselors-in-Training (CITs) and Junior Counselors Youth Leader(JCs) must have completed Monkey Business Camp Training in 2013 or 2014 or, if new or a 2014 Pre-K youth leader, attend the School Break Camp 2014-2015 Youth Leader training on Wed, Dec 17th, from 5:30-8:00 (dinner will be served) in a TBA location in or near Downtown Berkeley. This training will qualify new CITs to volunteer for the winter, Feb and Spring Break Camps. JCs should contact us directly and we will process registration via email or phone. Youth Leaders must be at least 11 years old.

Minimum enrollment is 2 days of camp.
Single day registration is not an option for Youth Leaders.
