We started the Youth Leadership Program to:

  • Provide opportunities for our campers, at age 11 and older, to pass on our camp traditions to the next generation of Monkey Business campers
  • Encourage interaction between older and younger campers
  • Model best practices regarding working with campers and running programs to upcoming counselors.
  • Offer chances to youth to lead games, activities, and songs with support of Site Director
  • Provide reflective time between Site and Program Directors and Youth Leaders

We offer Youth Leader trainings once a year, in the late spring. Any child interested in being a CIT at some time during the Summer or School Year 2010-2011 (for Winter, Feb, or Spring Camp if s/he will be 11 by then) should join one of the trainings, if space available. So, your child might be 10 when attending the training.  We do not introduce new Youth Leaders into programming at any other time of the year, as we do not have other training times. If your child will be 11 by one of the school break camps, but not by summer, please contact the office to register for the training.
